Motif Line Trace

Create a motif line that follows the selected line automatically, by clicking on it. The trace begins and ends at the place where you clicked.QkTrace_eg_motif03591.jpg

Note: For complex outlines, a group of motif lines is created to make up the trace.

Select Motif Line Trace

Using Motif Line Trace
  1. Select the Quick Create Quick_Create_toolbar_icon03595.jpg toolbar.

  2. Select the stitch options for your motif line. See Select a Stitch Type and Motif Line.

  3. In the Trace pop-up menu, choose Motif Line Trace QkTrace_Motif_Line_Trace_icon03597.jpg.

  4. Click the line you wish to trace.

  5. Adjust the Color Tolerance to preview the desired line, then click OK to confirm.

  6. Note: The Color Tolerance dialog will only appear if Color Tolerance is enabled. See Color Tolerance.

  7. Repeat to place as many traced lines as desired.

  8. Control–click and choose Finish Motif Line Trace Tool to deselect.

  9. To edit one of the traced lines, Control–click it and choose Properties to open the Area Properties dialog. See Area Properties.

  10. To alter the length of all the stitches, click a single object in the Group for the traced design, then Control–click and choose Select Similar from Group. Control–click the object again, and select Properties to choose settings for all objects of that type in the design.

  11. Alternatively, to edit several lines, select some objects with Command–click or Shift–click, then Control–click and choose Properties to open the Area Properties dialog. To edit all visible lines of that type, Control–click and choose Global Properties.
