Opening Pictures in the Load Design Wizard

Pictures can only be opened in the Load Design Wizard.

To Load a Picture

1. Click New and the Design Options page of the Load Design Wizard will appear.

2. Choose the Load Picture for a New Embroidery option.

You may not load a new picture directly onto the work area, either to replace the picture that is already there or to add a picture behind the current embroidery. If you wish to do this, first save the embroidery, then start the Load Design Wizard and choose Load Picture for a New Embroidery. Then use the wizard to load the desired picture. In the work area, use Insert to reload the embroidery you were creating.

3. Click Next and the Hoop Size page will appear.

4. Select the desired Hoop Size and Orientation or use Enter Size to set a specific hoop size.

5. Click Next and the Choose Picture page will appear.

Use Load a Picture



 to select a picture file in the Picture Viewer, use Paste Picture  to load a picture from memory, or use From Scanner or Camera



 to obtain a Picture from a scanner or digital camera.

Paste is not available if the clipboard is empty.

6. Select your picture. The picture will appear in the preview pane.

7. Click Next and the Rotate and Crop Picture page appears.

8. If required, rotate the picture to any angle from 0 to 359 degrees. This is useful for straightening scanned pictures.

9. The picture is automatically cropped to remove excess background color. If required, adjust the crop lines to select the desired part of the picture. Click Select All, or double-click the picture to select the whole picture.

10. Click Next and the Picture Size page appears.

11. Set the height of the picture in mm. The picture may not be made larger than the hoop.

12. Click the Pick Color icon  and click the desired color in the picture to choose the first color for drawing stitches. The nearest thread color is shown in the Color Selection dialog box. Any thread color can now be chosen. Click OK to confirm the thread color choice and the thread sample will show the chosen thread color.

13. Click Next and the Alignment Stitches page appears.

14. Click the points on the picture where you want to add alignment stitches.

15. Click Reset to remove all the alignment stitches and start again.

Alternatively, select Automatic Corner alignment stitches, or no alignment stitches.

16. Click Finish. The wizard will close and the work area will show the picture.

Use File, Insert to load an embroidery to embellish the picture, or start drawing stitches with the Standard or Free Motion tools.
