Load Design Wizard — Add Alignment Stitches

Wiz_7_-_Align_Stits00200.jpg

Use the Add Alignment Stitches page to add stitches at the beginning of the embroidery that you can use to align the picture with the embroidery. A special blue color layer is added before any other stitches in the embroidery, that is intended only for the stitches used for alignment.

This page of the wizard is only used if you have loaded a picture.

Alignment Stitch Style

Place Crosses on Picture

Move the pointer over the picture and the pointer will be a cross Cross_pointer00202.jpg where you may place alignment stitches. Click to place alignment stitches, which are shown as blue crosses. Each cross is 10mm across. Two or three alignment crosses should be sufficient in most circumstances. Click Next or select None if no alignment stitches are needed.

There is a 5mm boundary inside the edge of the hoop where you may not place cross alignment stitches. This is so the alignment stitches are only placed entirely within the hoop.

Automatic Corners

Choose this option to automatically place alignment stitches that are aligned with all four corners of the picture. The alignment stitches are corner shaped, so they can be used even if your picture goes up to the edge of the chosen hoop. They are only shown as crosses on the preview so that they are easy to see.

If you have clicked on the picture to add cross alignment stitches, these are removed when the Automatic Corners option is selected.

None

Choose this option if you do not wish to add alignment stitches. This option is recommended if you are going to load an embroidery that already has alignment stitches for the selected picture.

If you have clicked on the picture to add cross alignment stitches, these are removed when None is selected.

If no alignment stitches are added, the blue color layer will not be added at the beginning of the embroidery.

Some machines have special positioning features which do not require alignment stitches.
