Note: Invert Selection is only available when the Paint tab is selected.
With Invert Selection all the currently selected areas are deselected, and the deselected areas become selected. This is useful to apply an effect to everything except a small area.
In the toolbar, click Invert Selection .
Choose Edit > Invert Selection.
Use one of the selection tools to select the area that you want to exclude from an effect.
Click Invert Selection
.
The previously selected area becomes deselected, and the deselected area becomes selected.
To make a new selection, click outside the current selection, then make a new selection.
