Using a Drawing Tablet

"When I right-click using the pen, nothing seems to happen."

The pen must be close to the drawing surface of drawing tablet, but not touching, when you press the right-click button on the pen. If the mouse pointer is moving as you move the pen, then you are close enough to the tablet to use the right-click button.

It is recommended to have the tip of the pen within 5mm of the drawing surface when using the button on the pen.

Also, the mouse pointer must be over the work area (drawing area) on the mySewnet™ Sketch screen when you right-click to cancel a function.

If the right-click button on the pen still has no effect, it is likely that the button has been re-assigned to a different function in the tablet setup utility. Start the tablet setup utility and ensure the button is assigned to the right-click function.

To install the correct driver for the drawing tablet

  1. Insert the USB stick provided with the drawing tablet (not the USB stick for mySewnet™ Sketch) in your computer.

  2. From the menu that appears, select the Install Tablet or Run Tutorials option. (If the menu does not appear, browse to the USB stick and double-click the Menu.exe file.)

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver and tablet setup software.

When the software and driver installation is complete, the drawing tablet should have coverage of the whole screen.

If the drawing tablet is connected via an external USB hub

  1. First check what happens when the tablet is connected directly to a USB port on the computer. If the tablet is still not working correctly, follow the instructions above to ensure the correct driver is installed for the drawing tablet.

  2. Reconnect the tablet to the USB hub. If it now functions correctly, no further action is necessary.

  3. If the USB hub has a power supply, ensure the power supply is switched on and connected to the USB hub. If the drawing tablet now functions correctly, this means that you must use the USB power supply when using your tablet. If the tablet still does not function correctly, it must be connected directly to a USB port on the computer.

  4. If the USB hub is un-powered, it is likely that your computer is unable to provide enough power through the USB sockets to ensure all devices connected to the un-powered hub will function correctly. You must either connect the drawing tablet directly to a USB port on the computer or obtain a powered USB hub that works with your computer.
