Use line formatting to control how multiple lines of text are arranged relative to each other.
All text is initially created with center
alignment. Use the Alignment buttons to alternatively select left
or right
alignment.
Use Spacing to change the distance between multiple lines of text. The default spacing is 1.2, and can be adjusted from 1.0 to 5.0.
The Spacing is based on the height of the A character. Spacing of 1.0 is equal to the height of the A character, plus 6%. If you have lower case lettering with descenders (the tails below the baseline on the g, p, q and y characters), you may wish to increase the Spacing to 1.5.
Use Letter Properties to change lettering after it has been placed, but before it has been fixed as an embroidery.
To change the stitch type, right-click the lettering and select the stitch type from the Context menu. If there is more than one stitch area of a particular type in the font, the drop-down menu will show that stitch type in a numbered list; for example, Pattern Fill 1, Pattern Fill 2. Right-click the lettering and select Properties from the Context menu. The Letter Properties dialog box appears.
Click the arrow below the font preview to select a different font from the gallery.
Edit the text of the lettering in the Letters text box. Use Ctrl+Enter to add extra lines or break up existing lines of text.
You can check the spelling of the text. See Check Your Spelling.
Adjust Size to change the basic size of the lettering. It is recommended to use a size within the range indicated in the font name.
Click the arrows for Height
and Width
to change the proportions of the lettering. Alternatively, enter a size in the number box.
Use Rotate
to change the angle of the lettering.
Adjust Gap to change the spacing between the letters. Click the arrows, or enter a value.
Select Trim
or Running Stitch
as the connection method.
Click the arrow below the current lettering shape to select a different lettering shape from the gallery. If desired, set Reverse or Step for the Lettering Shape.
Select the alignment for multiple lines of lettering. Click Left
, Center
or Right
, as desired.
Click the arrows for Spacing to set the distance between multiple lines of text.
Click OK to apply your changes to the selected lettering.
